Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse; along comes another blog!
Hi I’m a 20yo student all the way from South Africa. I’ve been playing poker socially for the last few years now and about a year ago I started playing online for cash. My first foray into online poker was thanks to a pokerstrategy.com starting capital. Without a credit card or any other means of depositing money I really wouldn’t have been able to play online in the first place. I decided to follow SSS by the book and was determined to make a success of it.
It turned out to be quite successful and at its peak my bankroll was about $500, which in south African rand really isn’t bad. I stopped playing poker for quite a while as I had become bored with it. SSS wasn’t taking me any further and my first attempts into BSS were disastrous – you could say I was feeling frustrated by poker at the time.
As time passes by, old feelings come back and once again I felt the urge to start playing and maybe even make a few extra bucks. So here I am once again attempting to surf the seas of SSS poker.
My current situation:
I have bankrolls at various poker sites, most with pending bonuses:
Partypoker:
Pending $125 bonus (haven’t even started clearing this one)
Pokerstars:
Pending $50 bonus (just over half way through)
Titanpoker:
Pending $100 bonus (haven’t started)
With so many bonuses to clear, SSS would definitely be the way to go, especially since my rolls at all of these sites aren’t large enough for NL10 BSS yet. Of course it would make more sense to tackle these bonuses one by one and therefore I have prioritized them:
1) Partypoker: I only have about 21days to clear this one and although I know I won’t clear all of it it makes sense to try and clear as much as I can.
2) Pokerstars: as I’m half-way already it shouldn’t be too hard to clear and I have something like 2 months to clear it.
3) Titan poker: As much as I despise this site it would technically be a $150 boost to my bankroll and therefore it would be crazy not to.
Goals
To monitor progress it’s obviously important to set goals and constantly update them. At this point my goals are as follows:
· I will start afresh with sss at NL10 and learn everything from the beginning: this means rereading all articles, checking videos and attending coaching sessions
· I will clear all my current bonuses and migrate to a site that I feel most comfortable with and which offers me good rakeback
· Progress from bronze to gold rank ; from NL10 to NL50 and masters all concepts required at these various levels
· Get into a routine of updating my blog every 1000-1500 hands I play.
For now these goals aren’t overly specific nor are they time constrained, I will adjust this as I start playing
If you’ve read through until here, well then I hope I am as committed to this blog as you are! Seriously though sometimes when there is a lot to be said, then it really is difficult shortening it, but I will try my best to kept it as condensed as possible.
Until next time.
Cheers
